A number of Queensland Police officers are being investigated over the brutal arrest of three men in Brisbane captured in shocking vision.

A video filmed in Fortitude Valley on Saturday night shows officers speaking to the trio, with at least one of the men pinned against a traffic pole.

An officer then quickly approaches one of the other men, grabbing him around the neck before sweeping his legs from beneath him and slamming him into the concrete.

A second policeman joins him to pin the man to the ground as other officers work to contain his friends nearby.

Authorities say the altercation began with the men littering but quickly escalated.

The trio have since been arrested and charged with a long list of offences, including disobeying police order.

The men have claimed they did nothing to provoke the allegedly heavy-handed police response.
