More charges over 'worst stabbing' cop has ever seen Victim in coma after blade repeatedly plunged into face

Two more teens have been charged in connection with a stabbing in Sydney last week which police said "was one of the worst" they've seen.

Police were called to a party at an Airbnb on Wattle Street in Pyrmont about 10.50pm on Friday after a 36-year-old man was allegedly set upon by a group of up to 10 males.

Officers found the 36-year-old suffering serious facial injuries after being repeatedly stabbed in the face and slashed with the knife.

The man was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in an induced coma.

Deputy Superintendent Gavin Woods this morning told 2GB's Ben Fordham the nature of the incident was particularly confronting.

"It's one of the worst stabbing incidents in terms of injuries and causation and rationale for it I've ever seen," Dep. Supt Woods said.

Police are still investigating what led to the alleged attack, including online conversations and chat groups, however Dep. Supt Woods said he was "absolutely clear" the victim was not known to his attackers.

"There's also people on the peripheral who know about this and they need to come forward," he said.

To date, seven teens have been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged attack.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station about midday yesterday and was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.
A second 15-year-old boy was arrested at a home in Killara about 8.30pm yesterday.

A third 15 year-old boy, not present at the time of the assault, has also been charged with making "significant threats" to one of the teenagers involved.

Dep. Supt Woods said police are confident all those responsible for the incident will have been identified by police by the end of the day.
