Woman killed by car while taking mother to specialist appointment
A woman has died after she was hit by a car while taking her mother to a specialist appointment in Sydney's Inner West.
The 62-year-old was taking her 83-year-old mother to a dialysis appointment at Camperdown's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, when they were both hit by a car in the carpark just after 1.30pm today.
Doctors were quick to respond, but the younger woman suffered significant head injuries and died at the scene.
Her mother suffered only minor injuries, but was monitored in the hospital's emergency department.
The driver, a 69-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and taken in for mandatory blood and urine testing.
A crime scene was established and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
