A man has died after being shot at a home in Sydney's western suburbs. (9News)
A man has died after being shot at a home in Sydney's western suburbs.
NSW Police told 9News in a statement emergency services were called to a property on Jones Street in Wentworthville at about 7pm, following a concern for welfare call.
The man, aged in his 40s, was found with a gunshot wound to his leg.
He had been found by officers from the Cumberland Police Area Command.
Despite attempts to save him he died at the scene, NSW Police said.
A police investigation into the circumstances that led to the man's death is ongoing.
"A crime scene has been established and specialist forensic officers will conduct examinations," NSW Police said in a statement.
"Local detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
