Two dead after double stabbing in Western Sydney

Police were called to the Bidwill home around 12:45pm on Saturday.(ABC News)

Two people, a man and a woman in their 20s, are dead after a double stabbing in Sydney's west today.

Just before 12:45pm, emergency services were called to a home on Tongariro Terrace, Bidwill, after reports of a stabbing.

NSW Police found the woman outside the house with stab wounds to her stomach.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Around 4:25pm, police confirmed she died from her wounds.

A man was also discovered inside the home with stab wounds to his chest and died at the scene.

Authorities said the pair were known to each other.

A crime scene was established and detectives are expected to front the media later this evening.
