A man has been charged over the murder of his wife in Sydney's north-west last night.
Baltej Lailna, 31, is accused of stabbing Kamaljeet Sidhu, 27, to death at their home less than a month after police took out an AVO against him.
Ms Sidhu's brother called police to the couple's home on Ramona Street in Quakers Hill about 6.30pm yesterday.
Police found the 27-year-old with knife wounds and she died at the scene.
Mr Lailna was arrested in the hallway outside a bedroom and taken to Blacktown Hospital, where he was treated for cuts, before he was taken to Riverstone Police Station.
He has since been charged with murder.
Police will allege the husband assaulted and fatally wounded his wife.
Superintendent Jennifer Scholz said today police had taken out an AVO out against her husband, but they were still living in the same house and sleeping in the same bedroom.
Inquiries are continuing.
He has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
