Children found left in car on summer afternoon
Three children left unattended in a car have sparked a police investigation in Sydney's south this afternoon.
Concerned witnesses noticed the children - a boy aged nine, and twin boys aged four – inside the vehicle in a Riverwood carpark at about 2.50pm.
Police tried to find the parents in a nearby shopping centre without success, but while they were at the scene, the boys' mother returned to the vehicle.
Paramedics checked the boys at the scene, but they appeared to have no injuries.
Police took the boys to Hurstville police station where Family and Community Services were notified.
Inquiries are continuing, but no charges have yet been laid.
