Sydney teen shot dead in 'targeted' attack

An teenage boy who was fatally shot in Sydney's south-west overnight has been identified as 18-year-old Omar Elomar.
Just after 11pm last night NSW Police received a call for help at Cabramatta Avenue in Miller following reports a shooting had occurred.
Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command attended the address and found Mr Elomar with a gunshot wound to his chest.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive the teen, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.
Superintendent Adam Whyte said Mr Elomar's death was "very tragic".
"I want to assure the community here in Liverpool that the incident is not random – it was targeted," said Supt. White.
"From our initial investigations it looks like it occurred on the roadway and into a park and that will form part of our investigation."
Police have established a crime scene at the property and an investigation into Mr Elomar's death continues.
