A man accused of sexually harassing women on Bondi Beach has been arrested after a two-hour stand-off with police.
The man fled into the water as police officers approached him around 2.30pm yesterday after reports he had approached multiple women on the beach and allegedly engaged in "sexually inappropriate" behaviour.
The 38-year-old refused to leave the water for two hours and can be seen in video recorded by witnesses sitting on a rock in the surf.
With officers lining the beach and an helicopter hovering above, a surf life saver and off-duty police officer were jet skied to his location and pulled him through the surf to shore.
The Woollahra man was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with resisting or hindering a police officer in the execution of duty and stalking or intimidating intended to cause fear or physical harm.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on March 3.
