Emergency warning issued for bushfire in ACT
An emergency warning has been issued for a bushfire near Canberra.
The fire is burning near Pialligo Redwood Forest and is currently more than 90 hectares.
ACT Emergency Services Agency have advised residents to leave the area immediately as properties are under threat.
The safest route out of the area is towards Queanbeyan and Pialligo Avenue is closed from Scherger Drive to Oaks Estate Road.
The warning states particularly dangerous weather conditions are likely to make the fire difficult to control.
"Properties may be impacted by embers well ahead of the fire causing spot fires. Conditions are very dangerous," the warning said.
"Power, water and mobile phone service may be lost, and road conditions may become dangerous."
