Teen girl hit and killed in crash west of Sydney

A teenage girl has died after being hit by a car west of Sydney today.
Emergency services were called to the corner of the Great Western Highway and Bennett Street, Nepean following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a white Nissan Pulsar just after 2pm.
On arrival, a 14-year-old girl was treated for head injuries by NSW paramedics.

The girl was rushed to Westmead Children's Hospital but died from her injuries on the way to the hospital.
A crime scene was established and the driver of the white Nissan Pulsar, a 43-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
All eastbound lanes on the highway were closed but have since reopened.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
