RE: New Zealand Volcano Tragedy
It is with deep sorrow and sympathy that we reflect on the tragic circumstances of the volcanic eruption on White Island in New Zealand. The circumstances are still unclear other than the sheer speed of the eruption and the little notice that victims had of the catastrophe. We extend our deep felt condolences to the victims, their families and loved-ones. We send prayers to the survivors for their recovery and good health. AFIC President, Dr Rateb Jneid, stated “The loss of any life is a tragedy but to lose people in such circumstances is even worse. We stand with the families of the victims and the people of New Zealand in their time of suffering and sorrow.” Our thoughts are also with the people of New Zealand who have suffered another tragedy that has taken innocent lives. As we approach the end of the year we ask that all of us keep the victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers.
