Townsville shooting: Woman shot in the face over 'business debt'

A man is in custody, accused of shooting a woman in the face over a business debt at her Townsville home this morning.
Paramedics found the woman, belived to be in her 40s, in a critical condition with a gunshot wound to her head after being called to an address at Rangewood, in Townsville, about 8am.
Senior Sergeant Joe Matheson said it appeared a man armed with a gun arrived at the home chasing a business debt, and confronted the woman who had opened the garage as she prepared to leave for work.
The man allegedly fired a shot that hit the woman in the side of the face.
The pair were grappling in the garage, when the woman's husband came to her aid and called out to a nearby tradesman for help.
The woman remains in hospital in a critical condition. Her husband has a laceration to the foot and the 48-year-old tradie suffered a blunt trauma injury to the head, believed to be from a claw hammer.
Police have taken a 48-year-old man into custody, who could be charged with attempted murder.
A Queensland Ambulance officer confirmed neighbours had given the injured people first aid before paramedics arrived.
