Scary' scenes at Sandown 500 after car flips in Toyota 86 event

Sandown 500 crash (FOX Sports)

There were scary scenes at the Sandown 500 with a car flipping in a race before the Supercars.
In the Toyota 86 event, driver John Iafolla was lucky to walk away after a shocking rollover in the first lap.
Iafolla veered left off the track before riding up a barrier and flipping over it, propelling him to the interior of the track.
"Oh goodness me! That was never going to be good! That is a terrible, terrible image," commentators said on the Fox Sports broadcast.
"This is a scary moment."
The car narrowly missed colliding with a tractor and finally stopped after almost landing right on the back of a recovery ute, badly damaging the tray of the parked vehicle.
Resting on its roof, officials rushed to the scene and pulled Iafolla from the wreck, before putting him in the back of an ambulance.
He was taken to hospital and the race was abandoned.
"Thankfully it was towards the back of the car that it landed on the tray," commentators said.
