An emergency warning has been issued for a bushfire in the town of Darawank, north of Forster-Tuncurry on the NSW north coast.
The Rural Fire Service (RFS) says multiple fires are burning in the area of Failford Road and The Lakes Way.
Anyone in Darawank, Corrigan or Hallidays Point should seek shelter in a solid structure as the fire front approaches.
The fire is moving in a north-easterly direction towards Blackhead Road, Hallidays Point.
It has already crossed The Lakes Way, which is closed between Failford Road and Aquatic Drive.
High temperatures and vigorous winds have resulted in high fire danger across the state, with RFS crews fighting dozens of uncontained blazes.
Watch and Act warnings are in place for fires in Tyringham, north-west of Dorrigo, and in the Mount Kaptur National Park, east of Narrabri.
