Mum jailed over 200km/h police chase

A mother on the New South Wales South Coast has been sentenced to 18 months jail over a high-speed police pursuit while her three-year-old child was in the car with her.
Margarita Tomovska was charged after the chase which saw her reach speeds of more than 200km/h in her $230,000 Mercedes near Wollongong.

Dubbed the "Mercedes Mum", police said the 28-year-old sped off after being pulled over on the Princes Highway last November.
Despite previously pleading not guilty to dangerous driving and failing to stop for police, today she was sentenced to 18 months jail, with nine months non-parole and had her licence suspended for two years.
