Police have charged a man with the murder of 26-year-old Ioli Hadjilyra, whose body was found in a north Brisbane park last week.

The 34-year-old man was arrested at the corner of Felix Street and Lutwyche Road in Lutwyche at around 12pm on Tuesday, after members of the public alerted police.

Later on Tuesday, police charged the man with murder.

He is scheduled for an appearance at the Brisbane Magistrate Court on Wednesday, one week after Ms Hadjilyra's body was discovered.

She was found by council workers conducting routine maintenance underneath rail lines in Kalinga Park.

Police said it appeared as though attempts were made to disguise her body, which had "unexplained bruises and bleeding", among the bushes in the park.
