Driver dead, passenger critical after two-car crash at Doonside in Sydney's west

A woman has died and a man has been critically injured in a two-car crash at Doonside in Sydney's west.

Emergency services were called to Crawford Road about 10pm, after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Coveny Street.

A woman driving one of the vehicles was trapped and died at the scene. Her male passenger is being treated by paramedics and is described as being in a critical condition.

It's expected he'll be transported to Westmead Hospital.

The man driving the other vehicle has been taken for mandatory testing.

Crash Investigators have been called in to conduct inquiries.
