A woman has had to be cut from her car after allegedly ploughing into an ambulance station in Sydney's north-west.

Police allege the 20-year-old driver lost control in the carpark of a hospital in Denistone before smashing into the brick wall of a neighbouring ambulance station just before 8pm yesterday.

The woman was trapped inside the wreck for about 45 minutes before paramedics were able to free her.

She was transferred to Ryde Hospital in a stable condition and is being treated for ankle injuries.

There was minor structural damage to the ambulance station. Two ambulances were also damaged.
