Yaris driver seriously injured in Sydney head-on crash

A woman has been seriously injured in a head-on crash on a busy Sydney road in the early hours of this morning.

The woman was driving in a Toyota Yaris with a teenage girl when they collided with a Corolla on the Northern Road in Luddenham about 5.25am.

She suffered multiple injuries and is being treated at the scene. It is expected she will be airlifted to Westmead Hospital once she is stable, police said.

The teenage girl has escaped injury and is being cared for by her family.

The man driving the Corolla has been taken by ambulance to Liverpool Hospital suffering leg and abdominal injuries.

The Northern Road is currently closed in both directions between Littlefields Road and Elizabeth Drive.

It is expected to be closed for at least another hour.
