Man charged with murder of Brisbane woman Megan Kirley

A 40-year-old man has been charged with murder over the death of Brisbane woman Megan Kirley last month.

The body of Ms Kirley, 40, was found with a gunshot wound to the head at a semi-rural property in Karawatha in the early hours of February 9.

A man who lived at the property and was believed to be in a relationship with Ms Kirley made the call for help to emergency services.

Stafford Emmerson, from Acacia Ridge, was located at Regents Park in Logan, and has been charged with one count of murder.

The arrest comes after police appealed to the public for help in relation to the shooting.

He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
