Man, 65, dies during Lorne's Pier to Pub open water swim

A man has died during the Pier to Pub open water swim at Lorne, on Victoria's Great Ocean Road.


Police have confirmed the 65-year-old competitor died after being pulled from the water at 2:45pm.


Lifesavers and paramedics attempted to revive the man from Beeac, in Victoria's south-west, but he died at the scene.


Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
