Sydney Harbour Tunnel closed southbound after motorcycle crash

A crash involving a motorcycle has forced the Sydney Harbour Tunnel to close southbound on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services, including six ambulance crews, were called about 1.40pm.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the motorcycle had struck a vehicle from behind. The male rider was treated at the scene and taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious condition.

Nobody else was injured.

Motorists are advised to use the Harbour Bridge or avoid the area if possible, with significant traffic delays.
