An Uber driver has been charged over the alleged rape of a teenage girl in Bondi at the weekend.

The 37-year-old driver picked up three women from a night out in the city before dropping two of them off at Bondi early Sunday morning.

A 17-year-old girl was then driven to a North Bondi home, where police allege the driver raped her in his car.

The victim provided a description of the ride-sharing driver, which helped police track him down at a Liverpool home on Monday afternoon.

The driver was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with sexual intercourse without consent.

He was granted conditional bail and one of the conditions is that he does not work as a ride-sharing driver.

The matter is due to be heard at Liverpool Local Court in October.

Uber has been contacted for comment.
