Civilians killed by Assad attack near Um al-Mayazen in Daraa

At least 2 civilians of one family were killed Sunday (July 8) in Daraa countryside as the Assad regime’s militias were progressing towards the city of Um al-Mayazen, Orient News correspondent said.

The Joint Operation Chamber of the Free Syrian Army said its fighters repelled several offensive operations by the Assad regime in Daraa countryside.

On June 16, 2018, the Assad-Russian military alliance opened an offensive in Daraa and Quneitra governorate, one of the last anti-regime held areas in the south of Syria.

Series of talks were held and halted between the Syrian opposition fighting groups and the Russians in the last few days.

The talks ended in failure as the Russians insisted on handing over the heavy weaponry to the regime, the thing the opposition rejected
