Darwin robbery suspect arrested naked on Stuart Highway
A naked man has been dramatically taken into custody on the Northern Territory's main highway after a police search for the suspect in the theft of a family's trailer.
On Tuesday afternoon NT Police confirmed they had recovered the Strudwick family's blue trailer and had identified a suspect in the theft, alleged to have taken place on Sunday afternoon.
Police issued an image of 32-year-old Timothy Curtis, who they wished to question over the alleged incident.
This afternoon, police took a naked Mr Curtis into custody after an alleged pursuit earlier in the day which led them to the Batchelor area, about 70 kilometres from Darwin.
The ABC can reveal Mr Curtis is the same man who was jailed for four years, suspended after 15 months, over the car crash death of 22-year-old Donald MacLean in 2006 on the outskirts of Darwin.
Mr MacLean's death was the subject of a 60 Minutes story which called into question the length sentence Mr Curtis received.
