Two shootings over the weekend

May 07, 2012

A GUNSHOT was fired into the bedroom of a townhouse only streets away from where a man was arrested this weekend for a separate drive-by shooting in south west Sydney.

The bullet shattered a glass window on the second floor of a home on Harden St, Canley Heights and embedded itself in the wall on the opposite side of the room about 11.10pm last night.

Police said residents were home at the time of the shooting, but they escaped without injury.

This attack follows an incident on nearby Parklea Pde where a shot was fired into a house about 7am on Saturday, May 5.

That night, police raided a home on Thorney Rd, Fairfield West and arrested a 21-year-old man.

A crime scene was setup on Harden St and forensic officers inspected the bedroom and its balcony.

Investigators are yet to confirm if there is any link between the shooting incidents in the area.

Anyone with information on either gun offence should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
