July 21, 2009 9:08AM
POLICE investigating reports of a drunken youth in Melbourne's west uncovered a stun gun disguised as a mobile phone.
Police say the device, found in a Sunbury house last Thursday and acquired from overseas, looked like a mobile phone but had a stun gun attached to it.
They seized the weapon from a 16-year-old boy.
The boy is expected to be charged with possessing a prohibited weapon.
The phone/stun gun, branded as the Immobiliser, can be bought online for $US51 ($64) but the manufacturer warns that they are illegal in Australia.
