Sydney Harbour Tunnel shut after gas smell
December 02, 2011
CITYBOUND traffic is queued back seven kilometres after the Harbour Tunnel was shut due to reports of the smell of gas.
The Sydney Harbour Tunnel has now been reopened southbound, but there are still long delays, a spokesman for the Transport Management Centre said.
"There are still significant delays for citybound motorists with traffic queues of around seven kilometres," he said.
"Citybound buses heading over the Harbour Bridge are delayed by half an hour.
"Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time."
