A mother is expected to be charged with the manslaughter of her baby daughter after she left the infant in a car in Sydney's west.

The 22-month-old girl was taken by her mother to a medical centre at Toongabbie about 4.55pm last Thursday.

Medical staff attempted CPR on the baby but she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
