Jumblatt contacts Erdogan, expresses denunciation to Ankara blast
National Struggle Front bloc Leader MP Walid Jumblatt sent Wednesday a wire to Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan, expressing his denunciation to the terrorist blast that targeted the modern Islamic Turkey model.
“I would like to offer my deepest condolences to your government, people and families of victims,” MP Jumblatt said.
The Druze leader pointed that “the terrorist blast has suspicious timing and goals, as it aims at sabotaging the modern model your government on matching Islam and modernity next to setting the rules of democracy and plurality.”
MP Jumblatt indicated that “the Turkish position in support of Palestinians and Arab people’s rights to demand freedom, justice and democracy, hence contributing to determining a new prospect in the Arab world.”
He also sent a cable of condolences to Afghan President Hamid Kardai for the passing away of former President Burhan el-Dine Rabbani.
